Bright Spot: Brandon at Home Depot

My son and I went to Home Depot to get bags of compost and soil for our raised garden beds. It is 85F and humid here in North Texas, and I am not as useful loading 40# bags as I was pre-surgery, so most of it was falling to my son, which he would have done without complaining, but if you’ve ever loaded a pickup bed full of 40# bags of dirt, you know they get heavy any day. The humidity and temp today made it even worse.

Except.

There was Brandon.

And Brandon not only volunteered to help pile the bags onto the cart since the semi was in the way of the drive through pile of bags, he then helped load all of it into the back of the pickup.

And, y’all, did I mention 85F and humid? Imagine working in 6+ hours. Brandon seemed unfazed. He was friendly, acted like we were his good friends that of course he was going to help, and when we were done, we got a lovely fist bump and told to, “Have a blessed day.”

I know it is very unlikely Brandon would ever see this to know he is getting bragged on publicly, but I am still incredibly grateful for the help as well as his really fantastic attitude.

So, there you go. Welcome to my Monday Bright Spot space. Feel free to have some tea and share your bright spots in the comments. I would love to hear!
