Have you ever read any of the Hank the Cow Dog books?

I have read or listened to several, and at first, they seem really funny. In fact, I would read them while I peddled several miles on the recumbent bike in the gym and laugh so hard people would come over to ask what I was reading.
But here is the thing about Hank, after awhile he isn’t funny because you realize Hank is making the same mistakes and creating the same chaos over and over for one simple reason.
Hank never sees that he is the problem.
He blames this dog or that person or some other thing, but never sees how he contributes to the problem. Which means Hank never grows. He never sees a reason to grow. He’s not the problem.
So he goes right on through life creating drama, hurting others, blaming everyone else, being miserable, failing at life, and being the victim.
Let me give a bit of truth here.
If you’re miserable because life stinks and nothing is going your way and it is everyone else’ fault, you’re the problem.
But here is the great news.
If you are the problem, you are also the solution.
Once you know that, you have the power to change your whole story.
Hoping you take charge of your story,
Jerri Kelley
