Today has been a mentally long day. I have a lot of those right now. Anyone who has ever dealt with the death of a loved one and addressed the vast estate issues can testify to having several of those days.
Right now, my temptation is to plop down on my couch and stare blankly at the television and call it a long day. But I am really tired of losing days to estate issues and headaches, although I do have one right now.
So let me tell you about the rest of my day. See, I am a firm believer that in any day, even really bad ones, you can find some kind of goodness or kindness, and I believe those moments are what keep us sane, feed our hope, and prevent us from becoming bitter.
Here are some of my good moments from my day:
I walked my dogs this morning. We walked a little further than usual, which was possibly not a good thing for them, but we saw parts of the neighborhood we haven’t seen, and that was nice.
One of the houses we walk past every morning has morning glory type plants coming up in the middle crease of their driveway. They are beautiful, and I laugh seeing them happily waving in the wind to anyone who takes time to look.
Another house has these yellow puff ball things that are only a few inches high. I don’t know that I have ever seen them before. I googled it, and evidently they are called neptunia lutea, also commonly called “yellow-puff”, appropriately enough. (By the way, I know neptunia lutea is supposed to be italicized even if it doesn’t format that way.)
I also talked to my daughter awhile and heard how God has answered prayer and resolved conflicts with people she knows.
And my friend Shannon helped me with more estate stuff and…was fantastic…and made me laugh.
Plus, I could shower with clean water and have clean water to drink, too. I try to never take that for granted.
Yeah, it’s been a good day. It’s had some bumps, but it’s been a good day.
I hope yours has been as fascinating, colorful, joyful, and blessed as mine. Feel free to leave comments and tell me about your day so I can enjoy it with you.
Blessings!

Jerri is the human attached to Semper (adopted by Jerri as a rescue puppy) and Merida (adopted twice, once as a rescue by Jerri’s brother and second as an orphan by Jerri when Jerri’s brother died). She enjoys listening to them snore and vacuums up a ridiculous amount of dog fur.
